Family Counselling

The J & K Yateem Trust at its central office, supported by J&K State Social Welfare Board , Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir,
is running a family counseling center with two counsellors. Disputes regarding inheritance, dowry demands, mal
adjustments with spouse or inlaws, drug addiction, poverty, etc are dealt with here with the help of professional
counselling from the counsellors. The referral cases are sent to legal aid, concerned police stations, Sharia Board or other relevant agencies. This center is also working through the recently govt. started helpline number 181, where cases of the above nature are received. This help line has exclusively been started to help the ladies who are being exploited by spouses or in-laws. The cases of poor and destitute are received by Family counselling centre and are submitted to main office of the Trust for all possible assistances. This counselling centre also visits the aanganwari centres of the vicinity to aware them regarding the above mentioned issues which also is having a great impact towards the establishment of a better society.
